We built StudentOS with privacy at its core. Here's exactly how we protect your information — no legalese, just transparency.

Our Principles

Six commitments we make to every student.

Minimal Data Collection

We only collect what's absolutely necessary — your institutional email for verification and basic profile info. No social graphs, no browsing history, no tracking pixels.

Never Sold. Never Shared.

Your data is yours. We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

Encrypted at Rest & In Transit

All data is encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Your information is protected by the same encryption standards used by major banks.

Privacy-First Verification

Our planned student verification will only confirm your enrollment status. We won't store your academic records, grades, or coursework.

Right to Deletion

Request complete deletion of your account at any time. Active profile data is removed, but anonymized usage data is safely archived for internal analytics.

We do not collect passwords, financial information, social security numbers, academic transcripts, or any sensitive personal data.

Registering your account and planning future student status verification
Displaying benefits available to students at your institution
Tracking which benefits you've claimed to avoid duplicates
Sending expiry reminders for time-sensitive benefits (with your consent)
Analyzing user behavior to improve product discovery and fix friction points

Regardless of where you're located, you have the following rights with StudentOS:

Right to Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you, delivered within 30 days.
Right to Correction — Update or correct any inaccurate data in your profile at any time.
Right to Deletion — Request complete account deletion at any time. Active data is removed, but anonymized usage data is safely archived.
Right to Opt Out — Unsubscribe from all non-essential communications with one click.

Services we work with.

We use a limited number of trusted services to operate StudentOS. Each is vetted for privacy compliance:

Hosting — Secure cloud hosting provider
Analytics — Product analytics provider to help us improve the platform experience
Authentication — Secure user authentication and identity management provider
Database — Encrypted database provider matching user profiles to benefits

We do not use any third-party advertising networks, social media trackers, or data enrichment services.

Updates

How we handle policy changes.

If we materially change this privacy policy, we will:

Notify all registered users via email at least 30 days before changes take effect
Post a visible banner on our platform highlighting the changes
Maintain a public changelog of all policy revisions
